Scars of Abyssea Website Unveiled! (Also Sleih’s [Church] thoughts.

Posted by: Church @ 11:37 am Share in Facebook Tweet This

**Disclaimer~!** The first part of this post is not of my own, it is just a repaste from the official site. After the post, I will include my thoughts. **Disclaimer end-o~!**

With the release of Scars of Abyssea—the second in the Abyssea series of battle area add-ons—drawing ever closer, the official Abyssea homepage has been updated with a sneak preview of what awaits players in this latest installment.

The site will be updated regularly as the release date nears. With a promotional video and other exciting information on the way, you’ll want to keep checking back for all the latest news!

Visit the Scars of Abyssea website today!

*The Scars of Abyssea content will become playable upon the release of the next FINAL FANTASY XI version update, currently scheduled for early September.

Now for my portion. I’ll start by saying I’m excited for the new add-on. Visions of Abyssea’s been quite a bit of fun, and the music has been absolutely fantastic. But I will say, after looking at the screens that are posted on the site… I’m a tad sad about something…

WHY?! Why dear lord… why SE?! WHY?! I hatehateHATE~(!) gears and chariots… Why put them in Abyssea? Do you hate me so?! I’ll be stuck on DRK for the rest of my life… stun… stun… stun… stun… @0@ Not that I hate DRK… but I like to be able to play other jobs as well… but enough of my moaning. I’m really looking forward to the next version update, I think it’s going to be loads of fun once again. Level cap going more than likely to 90 means subjob leveling, and just overall leveling again. Most people hate it, but I actually enjoy leveling. I wonder how irrelevant my equipment will become once again though. lol

With that I’ll wrap up. Thanks for reading, and ja ne~!

Been A Bit, Hasn’t It?

Posted by: Church @ 8:35 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

It has been forever and a day since I last said something on here… and for that, I apologize. I just felt like sharing some of my thoughts on a few things.

First, let me start off by saying I was pleasantly surprised with E3 this year, but equally disappointed. Microsoft had a very strong showing, with Kinect, the slimmed down 360, and… well that’s just it… I was excited with the hardware aspects of Microsofts presentation… but at the same time felt very unsatisfied. There was just something that didn’t really get me all excited… Nintendo on the otherhand, I have to say, was very impressive. I had pretty much given up on Nintendo, but that has all changed. Nintendo gave me something, truly Nintendo. After watching the presentaion, I was excited beyond belief. Several new titles I’m looking forward to. Oh yeah, and the 3DS. Going to be amazing. Sony… was like this movie release poster… it pretty much shows you what you already know… There was NOTHING, let me emphasize, NOTHING that Sony showed that made me the least bit excited. I was shocked to see that Gran Turismo 5 finally got a release date, but other than that… nothing thrilled me from that camp. And Ubisoft? That was just plain p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c. I could not believe how horrid it was. Overall, I was more excited about this year’s E3, than I was for last year’s.

Now on to another note… I WANT TO GO TO AX SO BADLY! Reason being… May’n? Nakajima Megumi? Horie Yui? Kitamura Eri? Could you have a better guest list? Plus there’s the sneaking suspicion that either Kanno Yoko or Sakamoto Maaya will be there with May’n and Megumi for their concert… maybe that’s just me. But yea, I hate that I didn’t find out that it was going to be THAT awesome until a month before, leaving no time for me to save near enough money to go. But, life goes on, and you always miss opportunities. -sigh- xD My anime viewing has dwindled quite significantly… I’m sooo far behind on series’ (And those reviews I was going to do… ugh!) So I have to play catch up sometime soon. Have been mainly watching though FMA, K-ON!!, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, and Shugo Chara Doki! I finish Shugo Chara last week, and I must say I’m pleasently surprised by it. (I even started buying the manga D;) I first looked into the series I thought it was like really kidish… but it’s really not, and extremely good. Other than that, not been watching much. Been playing entirely way too much Final Fantasy XI though. Dx

So for now everyone, I must say oyasumi nesai!

Spring 2010 Means One Thing: New Anime (Part 1: Intro)

Posted by: Church @ 10:21 am Share in Facebook Tweet This

(Setting the stage here: This is a work in progress. In other words, I’ll update it as time goes on.)

Series to be reviewed: Heroman, B Gata H Kei, Angel Beats!, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, Ookiku Furikabutte ~Natsu no Taikai Hen~, SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors, Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri, Senkou no Night Raid, Mayoi Neko Overrun!, K-ON!!, Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru, Saraiya Goyou, Kiss x Sis.

Time to get this ball rolling! It’s spring, and it’s 2010. That means one thing: (I know there are other things that occur this spring, but that’s not my focus and can go kiss off!) New anime. This season brings us several new series, but also new seasons from past series such as: K-on!, Ikki Tousen, Big Windup!, and Shin Koihime†Musō. Now let me state that I will NOT be reviewing Big Windup!, or Giant Killing as sports anime have never been my thing… (I just can not watch them, for whatever reason they just don’t sit well with me.) After writing that line… I decided that for the good of the review I will watch them, along with 2 other shows that will more than likely end with my blood all over the parking lot of some school… What will we get? Will I love or hate some of the series? I could not tell you. I think though I will break this down into parts, this being Part 1: Intro, going until Part w/e: My Thoughts About This Season. So for now, I’m going to queue some episodes, and get rolling on this thing!

Ja ne for now!

January 18, 2010: Arrapago Remnants Salvage. (FFXI)

Posted by: Church @ 10:59 am Share in Facebook Tweet This

Now, to take some time out, and enter the world of Vana’diel, particularly the role of an Adventurer from the nation of Bastok; Sleih. For this first account, we join Sleih (Shiva server) upon the Aht Urhgan endgame mission of Arrapago Remnants Salvage.

Ok, after that lame start, I’m going to be talking about last night’s Salvage run of Arrapago Remnants. For those of you (which is probably most of you) http://www.wiki.ffxiclopedia.org had this to say about Salvage: “The main objective of Salvage missions is the exploration of the archaeological remains of four newly opened areas (Zhayolm Remnants, Arrapago Remnants, Bhaflau Remnants, Silver Sea Remnants) and the eradication of the demonic beasts that rule their deepest depths. However, this will not be as easy as it sounds. A powerful force known only as the Pathos of Alzadaal limits the abilities of all who enter, making them easy prey for the hordes of fiends waiting in the shadows. To complete these missions, alliances must work as one, or the treasure that slumbers in the remnants’ bowels will remain lost for eternity.” Most people who do Salvage describe it as, and pardon my language before hand, “The biggest fucking waste of 1 1/2 hours… But the equipment earned in the end is just sooo good… I’m willing to make myself hate… myself in order to get it!” Now, I personally enjoy Salvage, but that may just be because I’ve only been doing it for about 2 months… where as everyone else has

2010… New Decade Has Started. One Year And Counting.

Posted by: Church @ 1:44 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

Well, here we are… it’s January 16th already… I have been a lifeless sack-o-s*** to Anime Courtyard the last several weeks… There haven’t been any updates, no new projects, and no ACRadio. But do not fret, I believe the start to this decade, can also be the brilliant start to Anime Courtyard. We’ve already been around for one whole year! I find it simply amazing that, despite the fact we pretty much have 0 forum users, Anime Courtyard has officially been around for a few days over one year. I, myself need to keep in mind that not ever website takes off like a rocket, and these things take time to really develop. So for now, I think our primary focus is going to be developing into a likable website for people to come and interact with one another. I think I tried to rush some things, force others, and not really do what is needed to help us get going. So, with that said, ACRadio may not be back anytime real soon, but it will be back eventually. I want to find a sure fire solution that offers us flexibility with the radio… The last host I went through, made things easy… but everything seemed so cheap. So, if anyone has any suggestions, let us know at feedback@animecourtyard.com; and really this goes for any suggestions for the site. If you think something would be a grand boost, let us know!

Now comes the part of me talking about how the holidays went for me, and how the year has been going so far! =P *I’ll post some pictures here later when I get some time that I’m not so pressed to get things done. AKA Monday.* The holidays went over rather quite well for me, nothing bad happened, but at the same time nothing that great happened either. I had this big plan to buy myself a PS3 before, or right after Christmas. Needless to say, I spent waaay too much on Christmas, much more than I had planned, and fell short of the before Christmas part. So, I banked on getting a sizable amount of money for Christmas, which to my surprise pretty much did happen, but not quite enough to purchase a PS3. Well, since I did spend so much on Christmas, I didn’t have any money to get me by until the next pay period… So, in order to eat with friends and such during like New Year’s and such, I had to… tap into the PS3 fund. Which I was somewhat saddened by that fact, but not too upset. The last paycheck I was able to hang onto, and thus yesterday went to EB Games in Bloomington, and picked up a Sony refurbished 80GB PS3. So, I completed that part, lmao. Oh, but before Christmas, I did get about the most awesome present. The MEGAHOUSE Sheryl Nome figure that I’ve been wanting for a loooong time. Good ol Cybermario got it for me for Christmas. Absolutely amazing figure. I plan to do a review on it, so maybe I can do that this week, hopefully! So uhm… kind of running out of stuff to talk about. So I think I’m going to end it for now with that. I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season, and also hope that this new year/decade is proving to be better than then last!

Happy New Year!

Alec Denny (Church)

P.S. Just wanted to say, it seems I’m back in full swing Final Fantasy XI mode. xD Also, WHO’S SO EXCITED FOR FINAL FANTASY XIII? ME!

Anime Courtyard Radio: Down, But Not Fallen. (Updated 12/9/09 @2:44AM EST)

Posted by: Church @ 11:59 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

Incase there were some who were wondering; Yes, Anime Courtyard Radio is down.

Reason being: I never got the payment invoice, so they cut the cord on us.

Does this mean ACR is gone forever? No. The server is technically back up, but I’m doing a service change to better fit what we have right now. We had a max user limit of 50 users… we peaked at maybe 12 users at one time, so we’re degrading our service down to 25 users max, saving me 3 euro a month for service. With that said, ACR should be back up, and completely running by tomorrow evening, tomorrow night at the latest. We also look to add some new songs in addition to the service change. But for now, just mainly wanted to bring those of you who care, up to speed on what happened with ACR, and what’s going to happen.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Church

Update: Got an email today saying that the service hasn’t been changed yet… so the radio remains down… I’m a little disappointed… but oh well… it’ll get done.

Update 2: Still haven’t gotten the package change, or the invoice for it… so in all likely hood, I’m just going to switch hosts, cause this is pretty God da**ed ridiculous. So please, I continue to ask for your patience, and I promise the station will be back up by the end of the week.

New Music Being Added, Possible Forum Switch.

Posted by: Church @ 1:27 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

Just a real quick update here. Been pondering all morning about what should be done with the site, what could make it more attractive, what would draw people in, what exactly is Anime Courtyard? My initial goal for Anime Courtyard was to be a nice anime commuinty, where people could come, and talk about what they love, and hate in anime, ect. I feel that over the last several months, that goal has been forgotten, and abandoned. I still really want to have a nice community, with lots of people to talk with, and share with. But at the same time, I also want to have a website to go along with it. Only problem there is, what does the website need to have? I’ve posted on the Facebook group page, a topic of What can Anime Courtyard do? But alas, we have members on there, but no one cared to share an opinion. So, what we have is a webpage, with some neat pictures, a blog, a forum, anime radio, and an about us page. My thought is, why do we have people on the forums, but no one posts? What’s the purpose of being a lurker when there’s not much to lurk? Help us! xD

So, with that in mind, I need to discuss this with mario, but may possibly switch our forum software. I personally hate phpbb… it is, I don’t know… I do not like it. But like I said, need to discuss it. On the other hand of this topic that I got away from, monday evening I should have new music up on the shoutcast station. If you have any suggestions, or requests, let us know! as of right now, I look to add at least 10 new songs. (Mind you, my upstream connection isn’t the greatest on the planet D; )

Songs that may possibly get added are as follows:

Carry Me Away by Kagami Seira from Kaiba

Never by Kagami Seira from Kaiba

Light of Dawn by Annabel from Tatakau Shisho -The Book of Bantorra

Wonder Wind by ELISA from Hayate no Gotoku!! (op 1)

Tomare! by Hirano Aya, Chihara Minori, and Gotou Yuuko from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu S2

LET IT OUT by Fukuhara Miho from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (ed 2)

Treasure by Honda Mirako, Saito Yuka, Togashi Misuzu, and Horinaka Yuki from Seitokai no Ichizon

Chikaigoto ~Sukoshi Dake Mou Ichido~ by IKU from To Aru Majutsu no Index (ed 2)

One Way Ryou Omoi by Inoue Mirana and Nakajima Megumi from Kampfer

WANTED! for the love by Kitamura Eri, Katou Emiri, Gotou Saori, Makino Yui, and Chihara Minori fomr Needless (ed 2)

Holy Night by Kugumiya Rie and Kitamura Eri from Toradora! (“ed 3″)

Sekka no Shinwa -in X’mas mix- by KOTOKO

Okay, so that was 12, but still. We’re going to be adding in slowly as well, some Christmas music, as it is closing in on the fun Holiday season, so if you can help us with these pieces, that’d be greatly appreciated. For now, that’s all I have as I need to get ready for work here shortly. But stay tuned, cause we never know what the future may hold!

Ja ne!

KÀmpfer Episode 7: After Thoughts

Posted by: Church @ 3:25 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

kampfer_07

Okay, after watching KÀmpfer eps. 7, my thoughts have changed a little on the show. Let me just say after watching the first 6 episodes, I couldn’t really get a grasp of a possible plot, other than it being Guy can turn into a KÀmpfer that so happens to have to be a girl, guy’s crush falls for the female self, and it’s almost borderline hentai/yuri/harem fun fun with some action-type school life yatta! So yea, there were some perk-ups of possible plot that have come up, but nothing major. So in episode 7, the girls spend a day at Rank… er… I mean Sakura’s house with all the Entrails Animals. Right right, fun fun. They start with a plotted game by Ranka… I mean Sakura so she can get the chance to “kiss” Natsuru, which fails epically, and she never gets the chance. After so, she proceeds to show off her Entrails Animals collection to the girls, which I find myself to be rather disturbing that she has such a collection… but none-the-less. After so, Natsuru’s childhood friend Mikoto drops by after searching the entire country for Natsuru, just to bring him/her some curry. So during dinner, the point of the evening is brought to light to Akane that Natsuru promised Ranka… Sakura that she/he/it/ugh would spend the night there, and she’s not very happy about it. During which Shizuku proceeds to dump curry on Natsuru’s head, forcing her to take a shower, to Sakura’s enjoyment. As Natsuru prepares for the shower, he realizes he had never taken a shower in his female form, and becomes rather embarrassed, and also the fact that Sakura keeps trying to peak in on him/her to maybe catch her naked. After finally deciding to get in the shower as his female self… he realizes just how big of boobs he has as his female self. Don’t know why this is so relevant, or why it took him that long to realize it… but they made a point to make sure you know. During the middle of his/her shower, sakura decides to sneak in and prepares to undress, where as she’s interrupted by Akane and explains that she’s just going to wash Natsuru’s back. Not happy with this Akane tries to talk her out of it, but to no avail as Sakura really plans to do it. In the middle of their little arguement, Mikoto jumps in prepared to do the “dirty work” as she really wants to get a peak at Natsuru’s “huge tits.” Yet again they make that an emphasis. After all that, the plan is for bed, where there are futons set up, and another argument starts as to who would sleep next to Natsuru. In the end, Natsuru ends up sleeping, alone in the Entrails Animals room… talk about disturbing… In the process of trying to fall asleep, Natsuru starts thinking about “how cute” Sakura was all throughout the day, and transforms back into a boy. In the middle of his little panic, enters Sakura to sneak into his futon. As he tries to distance himself from her so she doesn’t find out about him being a male at that time, she decides to be a little forceful.

kampfer_07_1

As she begins to really feel him, she doesn’t notice I guess when she around his crotch, but she notices the shorter hair, and is a little confused. Then enters the queen of vulgairty, Hocchan (Akane)!

kampfer_07_2

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to watch Toradora! and think of Minorin the same again thanks to Horie Yui’s role in KÀmpfer. I kid. But yes, very vulgar, very violent. Then enters the possible lead to a plot! A white bracelet KÀmpfer bust through the window, trying to fight Natsuru and Akane, but is ran off by Shizuku. After all that, the episode is pretty much over, and we are left to ponder what is to come, as the episode 8 preview really doesn’t display anything concerning this white KÀmpfer… just that there’s going to be another date. Oh boy! . . . I want some plot action. Don’t get me wrong, the series cracks me up, probably more so from how far out there it is, but none-the-less, I still really enjoy it, and hoe to see some more plot development that could be there.

Thanks for reading!

Hmm… I don’t really know what to write about… but I’ll put something down. Getting ready to catch up on the latest episode of Kimi ni Todoke, but before I do that, guess I should blog, lol. I got my shelves put up last night (11/11/2009) and filled them with some of my figures and such earlier today. I’d have to day… I can’t believe I almost have them full! But then again, I did space out several of the figures. I just have too much crap. Ah yay, YELLOW ALERT from Trigun just started playing. ;) That makes me happy… Umm… let’s see, yea, from the shelving, I am having some nice back spasms. The area I got to work with, was at times very cramped, plus having to put all my weight and force into the drill just to get the screws into the studs… it was such a pain. Took 4 hours just to get the blasted things up. But, now, they’re up, and awaiting phase 2 of my room project, which would be painting. Can’t wait to do that! (SARCASM, HA!) Now, on to other business type-stuff. I’m going to be uploading more music to the shoutcast server, so we can hopefully have more than 8.5 hours worth of music going. Any suggestions or request, please, please, lend them to us! Either email us at animecourtyad@gmail.com (Yea, webhost is still being lame) or post on the forums, posting’s not that hard, now is it? D; Let’s see what else… nothing much else I suppose, so uh… yea. Join the forums, post, share, listen to Anime Courtyard Radio, and tell your friends! Also! Suggestions of things you’d like to see on the site would be a great help! Thanks for reading my poor excuse for blogging! Oyasumi nasai.

Recent Email Issue – Anime Courtyard Forums

Posted by: Church @ 11:47 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

Recently here at the Anime Courtyard forums, we have been dealing with quite a pain of a problem concerning Email verifications. We would like to apologize for it seems the local server email that we were using, administration@animecourtyard.com can not send out emails, and if it did, it usually went to the spam folder. We believe this may be linked to an issue with our webhost, and we will continue to look into it. For the time being however, we are using a temporary fix. For the time being, verification emails, and such will be arriving from AnimeCourtyard@gmail.com. Yet again, we apologize for any, and all inconveniences this may have caused.
