Scars of Abyssea Website Unveiled! (Also Sleih’s [Church] thoughts.

Posted by: Church @ 11:37 am Share in Facebook Tweet This

**Disclaimer~!** The first part of this post is not of my own, it is just a repaste from the official site. After the post, I will include my thoughts. **Disclaimer end-o~!**

With the release of Scars of Abyssea—the second in the Abyssea series of battle area add-ons—drawing ever closer, the official Abyssea homepage has been updated with a sneak preview of what awaits players in this latest installment.

The site will be updated regularly as the release date nears. With a promotional video and other exciting information on the way, you’ll want to keep checking back for all the latest news!

Visit the Scars of Abyssea website today!

*The Scars of Abyssea content will become playable upon the release of the next FINAL FANTASY XI version update, currently scheduled for early September.

Now for my portion. I’ll start by saying I’m excited for the new add-on. Visions of Abyssea’s been quite a bit of fun, and the music has been absolutely fantastic. But I will say, after looking at the screens that are posted on the site… I’m a tad sad about something…

WHY?! Why dear lord… why SE?! WHY?! I hatehateHATE~(!) gears and chariots… Why put them in Abyssea? Do you hate me so?! I’ll be stuck on DRK for the rest of my life… stun… stun… stun… stun… @0@ Not that I hate DRK… but I like to be able to play other jobs as well… but enough of my moaning. I’m really looking forward to the next version update, I think it’s going to be loads of fun once again. Level cap going more than likely to 90 means subjob leveling, and just overall leveling again. Most people hate it, but I actually enjoy leveling. I wonder how irrelevant my equipment will become once again though. lol

With that I’ll wrap up. Thanks for reading, and ja ne~!

Been A Bit, Hasn’t It?

Posted by: Church @ 8:35 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

It has been forever and a day since I last said something on here… and for that, I apologize. I just felt like sharing some of my thoughts on a few things.

First, let me start off by saying I was pleasantly surprised with E3 this year, but equally disappointed. Microsoft had a very strong showing, with Kinect, the slimmed down 360, and… well that’s just it… I was excited with the hardware aspects of Microsofts presentation… but at the same time felt very unsatisfied. There was just something that didn’t really get me all excited… Nintendo on the otherhand, I have to say, was very impressive. I had pretty much given up on Nintendo, but that has all changed. Nintendo gave me something, truly Nintendo. After watching the presentaion, I was excited beyond belief. Several new titles I’m looking forward to. Oh yeah, and the 3DS. Going to be amazing. Sony… was like this movie release poster… it pretty much shows you what you already know… There was NOTHING, let me emphasize, NOTHING that Sony showed that made me the least bit excited. I was shocked to see that Gran Turismo 5 finally got a release date, but other than that… nothing thrilled me from that camp. And Ubisoft? That was just plain p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c. I could not believe how horrid it was. Overall, I was more excited about this year’s E3, than I was for last year’s.

Now on to another note… I WANT TO GO TO AX SO BADLY! Reason being… May’n? Nakajima Megumi? Horie Yui? Kitamura Eri? Could you have a better guest list? Plus there’s the sneaking suspicion that either Kanno Yoko or Sakamoto Maaya will be there with May’n and Megumi for their concert… maybe that’s just me. But yea, I hate that I didn’t find out that it was going to be THAT awesome until a month before, leaving no time for me to save near enough money to go. But, life goes on, and you always miss opportunities. -sigh- xD My anime viewing has dwindled quite significantly… I’m sooo far behind on series’ (And those reviews I was going to do… ugh!) So I have to play catch up sometime soon. Have been mainly watching though FMA, K-ON!!, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, and Shugo Chara Doki! I finish Shugo Chara last week, and I must say I’m pleasently surprised by it. (I even started buying the manga D;) I first looked into the series I thought it was like really kidish… but it’s really not, and extremely good. Other than that, not been watching much. Been playing entirely way too much Final Fantasy XI though. Dx

So for now everyone, I must say oyasumi nesai!

January 18, 2010: Arrapago Remnants Salvage. (FFXI)

Posted by: Church @ 10:59 am Share in Facebook Tweet This

Now, to take some time out, and enter the world of Vana’diel, particularly the role of an Adventurer from the nation of Bastok; Sleih. For this first account, we join Sleih (Shiva server) upon the Aht Urhgan endgame mission of Arrapago Remnants Salvage.

Ok, after that lame start, I’m going to be talking about last night’s Salvage run of Arrapago Remnants. For those of you (which is probably most of you) http://www.wiki.ffxiclopedia.org had this to say about Salvage: “The main objective of Salvage missions is the exploration of the archaeological remains of four newly opened areas (Zhayolm Remnants, Arrapago Remnants, Bhaflau Remnants, Silver Sea Remnants) and the eradication of the demonic beasts that rule their deepest depths. However, this will not be as easy as it sounds. A powerful force known only as the Pathos of Alzadaal limits the abilities of all who enter, making them easy prey for the hordes of fiends waiting in the shadows. To complete these missions, alliances must work as one, or the treasure that slumbers in the remnants’ bowels will remain lost for eternity.” Most people who do Salvage describe it as, and pardon my language before hand, “The biggest fucking waste of 1 1/2 hours… But the equipment earned in the end is just sooo good… I’m willing to make myself hate… myself in order to get it!” Now, I personally enjoy Salvage, but that may just be because I’ve only been doing it for about 2 months… where as everyone else has

2010… New Decade Has Started. One Year And Counting.

Posted by: Church @ 1:44 pm Share in Facebook Tweet This

Well, here we are… it’s January 16th already… I have been a lifeless sack-o-s*** to Anime Courtyard the last several weeks… There haven’t been any updates, no new projects, and no ACRadio. But do not fret, I believe the start to this decade, can also be the brilliant start to Anime Courtyard. We’ve already been around for one whole year! I find it simply amazing that, despite the fact we pretty much have 0 forum users, Anime Courtyard has officially been around for a few days over one year. I, myself need to keep in mind that not ever website takes off like a rocket, and these things take time to really develop. So for now, I think our primary focus is going to be developing into a likable website for people to come and interact with one another. I think I tried to rush some things, force others, and not really do what is needed to help us get going. So, with that said, ACRadio may not be back anytime real soon, but it will be back eventually. I want to find a sure fire solution that offers us flexibility with the radio… The last host I went through, made things easy… but everything seemed so cheap. So, if anyone has any suggestions, let us know at feedback@animecourtyard.com; and really this goes for any suggestions for the site. If you think something would be a grand boost, let us know!

Now comes the part of me talking about how the holidays went for me, and how the year has been going so far! =P *I’ll post some pictures here later when I get some time that I’m not so pressed to get things done. AKA Monday.* The holidays went over rather quite well for me, nothing bad happened, but at the same time nothing that great happened either. I had this big plan to buy myself a PS3 before, or right after Christmas. Needless to say, I spent waaay too much on Christmas, much more than I had planned, and fell short of the before Christmas part. So, I banked on getting a sizable amount of money for Christmas, which to my surprise pretty much did happen, but not quite enough to purchase a PS3. Well, since I did spend so much on Christmas, I didn’t have any money to get me by until the next pay period… So, in order to eat with friends and such during like New Year’s and such, I had to… tap into the PS3 fund. Which I was somewhat saddened by that fact, but not too upset. The last paycheck I was able to hang onto, and thus yesterday went to EB Games in Bloomington, and picked up a Sony refurbished 80GB PS3. So, I completed that part, lmao. Oh, but before Christmas, I did get about the most awesome present. The MEGAHOUSE Sheryl Nome figure that I’ve been wanting for a loooong time. Good ol Cybermario got it for me for Christmas. Absolutely amazing figure. I plan to do a review on it, so maybe I can do that this week, hopefully! So uhm… kind of running out of stuff to talk about. So I think I’m going to end it for now with that. I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season, and also hope that this new year/decade is proving to be better than then last!

Happy New Year!

Alec Denny (Church)

P.S. Just wanted to say, it seems I’m back in full swing Final Fantasy XI mode. xD Also, WHO’S SO EXCITED FOR FINAL FANTASY XIII? ME!
