Plants vs. Zombies Xbox Live Review

Time ago a great and addictive game hit the PC and made me go insomniac with hour of fun.. Plants vs Zombies, later on ported to I-Phone and I-Pad, and now it has been released for Xbox Live Arcade for the buy topamax australia joy of the fans! ready to defend your garden of the zombie menace?

More games, more fun, moar zombies!

Story
Zombies decided to invade the neighborhood, they are roaming your lawn and want come to dinner with you, you as the main dish of course, brains anyone? yummy! do not fear, your brave plants are here to save the day and fight the dreadful menace, you are not alone and your trusty neighbor Crazy Dave is there to give you tips and upgrades as you advance the game.

Tower defense is one of my favorite genres, and Plants vs Zombies is one of those titles that stand apart from the rest, an extraordinaire amount of humor and cultural references such as Crazy Dave (based on a series of commercials in the 70’s and 80’s) and the most famous could be the Michael Jackson zombie from Thriller, which sadly had to be removed in later versions including the Xbox Live Arcade.

ZOHAN: Yallah Yallah, Disco Disco (oh wait, he is not in the game!)

“The Estate of Michael Jackson objected to our use of the ‘dancing zombie’ in PLANTS vs. ZOMBIES based on its view that the zombie too closely resembled Michael Jackson. After receiving this objection, PopCap made a business decision to retire the original ‘dancing zombie’ and replace it with a different ‘dancing zombie’ character for future builds of PLANTS vs.ZOMBIES on all platforms. The phase-out and replacement process is underway.”

The Thriller Zombie is now replaced for a Disco Zombie.

The first time i played the game i loved that which i considered a parody and an homage to the king of pop, such a shame it was removed from the game.. the dancing zombie is now replaced by a disco zombie.

So, what’s new? the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game give us extra content, new achievements, new houses, Versus and Co-op modes giving the game much more life and gameplay value.

I had some doubts of playing this game with a control pad, used to play the game with a mouse and i was not sure how good the controls in the XboxLive Arcade was going to be, im glad to say the gameplay was not affected by this and plays as smooth as the pc version.

The more the merrier, co-op with a friend!

Multiplayer
The Versus and Co-op mode are offline, grab a second controller and enjoy some old school co-op and versus gaming with friends (something more games should include).
sadly there is no Online Versus and Co-op opcion here, would have been great to play and challenge friends over XboxLive as not always a friend is available to come and play and assault your fridge, so far is the only let down i have found in this version of the game.

Omg and i just cleaned the pool!

Overall
Graphics are delightful, it’s like watching a cartoon, and along with the funny humor and intense gameplay this makes a great title. is the game worth 1200 MS Points? yes it is, definitely a title you must have in your library of games with tremendous replay value, Plants vs Zombies by PopCap Games a game you cant miss!

We give it a 9 out of 10
